He began his career at First American in the FASTEP Executive Training Program and carries the distinction of being the first candidate selected for the programs inaugural class. Prior to joining First American Mr. Blackmon held the position of Sr. Financial Manager / Clinical Informatics for Perot Systems. Before that, he was a Financial Analyst /Clinical Informatics for Tenet Healthcare. Mr. Blackmon is a dual degree holder from the University of North Texas, where he earned a B.B.A in Finance as well as an M.B.A in Strategic Management from the Toulouse School of Graduate Studies. He is married to his wonderful wife of 4 years Chelsea, who is also a UNT alum and the ’07 and ’08 coach of the Cheer Power National Champion Cheerleading team at a local high school. He received his J.D. in 2000 from the Texas Wesleyan University School of Law, where he was the marketing editor of the Texas Wesleyan Law Review, a member of the Moot Court Honors Program and a member of two ABA National Negotiation Competition Teams. He received his LL.M. in real property development from the University of Miami School of Law. He received his mediation certificate in 1998, and has additional real estate valuation training from the Appraisal Institute. Mr. Hedgecock is a member of the State Bar of Texas, the College of the State Bar of Texas, the Texas Center for Legal Ethics and Professionalism, the American Bar Association, and the Dallas and Tarrant County Bar Associations. He is a Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation and the Tarrant County Bar Foundation, and a member of The Real Estate Council, Appraisal Institute, Urban Land Institute. He is admitted to practice before all Texas state courts; the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Southern, Eastern and Western Districts of Texas; the U.S. Court of Federal Claims; the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the 5th and Federal Circuits; and the U.S. Supreme Court. Mr. Hedgecock serves on the Board of Directors for the Texas Wesleyan School of Law Alumni Association, the Texas Wesleyan Law Review Alumni Association, Tarrant County North Texas Exes, and is a member of the UNT President's Council and the Advisory Board to the UNT College of Business Administration.
