Dr. Barbara W. Altman is a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Management, College of Business Administration at the University of North Texas.  She teaches Business Ethics and Corporate Social Responsibility at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.  In addition to her teaching responsibilities at the University of North Texas, Dr. Altman is a Senior Research Associate of The Center for Corporate Citizenship at Boston College’s Carroll School of Management (www.bc.edu/cccr).

 Dr. Altman’s research focuses on the increasing roles corporations are taking as global corporate citizens, the impact of these changes on executive development and stakeholder management, and the interplay between business ethics, corporate social responsibility and sustainable development.  She is a faculty participant in the Murphy Enterprise Center's new Leadership, Ethics and Integrity Initiative.

Dr. Altman has published articles in the Academy of Management Executive, the Journal of Organizational Change Management, and Business and Society Review.  She is co-editor of a special volume of Business and Society Review, published in January 2000, on “Corporate Citizenship for the New Millennium.”  She has presented her work at numerous business and academic conferences around the world.

Dr. Altman’s holds a Doctoral degree in Business Administration from the Boston University School of Management, where she gained Beta Gamma Sigma distinction.  She also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Public Affairs from the University of Texas at Austin, where she gained Phi Beta Kappa distinction.
