Welcome to the Center for NAFTA Studies. We are part of the College of Business in the University of North Texas. Located about 45 miles north of Dallas and Fort Worth, the University straddles I-35. That gives the Center a special interest in trade between the signatories to the North American Free Trade Agreement (in Spanish Tratado de Libre Comercio) because I-35 is the ribbon of commerce tying Canada to Mexico.

Mission Statement

• To develop student and faculty competencies in international trade and commerce with special emphasis on NAFTA;
• To research, explore, and document the impact of the North American Free Trade Agreement on investment, on trade and commerce decisions, and on activities of governments and businesses in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex;
• To facilitate exporting activities of the regional business organizations.
