The Department of Information Technologies and Decision Sciences made changes in two research centers over the summer. They are merging the Center for Quality and Productivity (CQP) and the Information Systems Research Center (ISRC), into one center. The center will be named the Center for Decision and Information Technologies (C-DIT).
In July of 2008, the University of North Texas gave approval to form the center. Dr. Mary Jones, Chair of the Information Technology and Decision Sciences Department said, "There has been increasing synergy between the two centers for several years, and in the last few years, there has been quite a bit of overlap between both the stakeholders and the activities of the two centers." Jones went on to say "This merger will provide a more manageable and more flexible resource and facilitate the department's ability to better serve our stakeholders and provide a more solid foundation for outreach efforts. The goal of the center is to continue providing value to stakeholders (e.g., seminars, focused research projects, contact with/access to students, etc…)and to identify other value added services."
The Center is in the process of updating thier web site.
