Eagle Awards were presented to Spring and Summer 2008 College of Business Ph.D. graduates at the September 19, 2008 faculty meeting. Dr. Lina Zaghloul Bichara and Dr. Pamela Patterson Rogers were in attendance to receive their award.
The college is extremely proud of all of the Ph. D. graduates and looks forward to following their progress after graduation
- Dr. Lina Zaghloul Bichara (pictured left) from the Finance department is a senior financial analyst at Bank of America. Dr. Bichara’s dissertation title was “Institutional Ownership and Dividend Policy: A Framework Based on Tax Clienteles, Information Signaling and Agency Costs”. Her major professor was Dr. Michael Impson.
- Dr. Pamela Patterson Rogers (pictured right) from the Management department is teaching as an adjunct in our UNT College of Business Management Department. Dr. Rogers’ dissertation title was “An Empirical Investigation of Manufacturing Flexibility and Organizational Performance as Moderated by Strategic Integration and Organizational Infrastructure”. Her major professor was Dr. Richard White.
- Dr. Clinton Amos from the Marketing department has accepted an assistant professor position at Augusta State University in Augusta, Georgia. Dr. Amos’ dissertation title was “The Impact of Visceral Influences on Consumers’ Evaluation of Weight Loss Advertising”. His major professor was Dr. Nancy Spears.
- Dr. Gary R. Holmes from the Marketing department is an assistant professor at Drury University in Springfield, Missouri. Dr. Holmes’ dissertation title was “Symbolic Visuals in Advertising: The Role of Relevance”. His major professor was Dr. Nancy Spears.
- Dr. Arun Madapusi from the Management department has returned to his home country of India to either consult or continue with academics in January of 2009. Dr. Madapusi’s dissertation title was “Post-Implementation Evaluation of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Systems”. His major professor was Dr. Richard White.
- Dr. Thomas Nichols from the Management department accepted a position at Texas Wesleyan in Fort Worth, Texas, as an Assistant Professor, tenure track. Dr. Nichols’ dissertation title was “Authentic Transformational Leadership and Implicit Leadership Theories”. His major professor was Dr. Vicki Goodwin.
- Dr. Kuei-Hsien Niu from the Management department has taken a position as an assistant professor at California State University - Sacramento. Dr. Niu’s dissertation title was “Understanding Knowledge Management and Organizational Adaptation and the Influencing Effects of Trust and Industrial Cluster”. His major professor was Dr. Grant Miles.
- Dr. Iryna Pentina from the Marketing department has accepted an assistant professor position at the University of Toledo, Ohio. Dr. Pentina’s dissertation title was “Performance Implications of Online Channel Strategic Decisions by Incumbent Retailers: The Role of Order of Entry and Degree of Inter-Channel Coordination.” Her major professors were Dr. Ron Hasty and Dr. Ted Farris.
- Dr. Jeremy St. John from the Information and Technology Decision Sciences department has accepted a position as assistant professor at Texas A & M at Commerce. Dr. St. John’s dissertation title was “IT Offshoring Success: A Social Exchange Perspective”. His major professor was Dr. Steve Guynes.
- Dr. Patricia Thomas from the Information and Technology Decision Sciences department is an assistant professor at the Department of Economics & Business Administration, Framingham State College, Framingham, Massachusetts. Dr. Thomas’ dissertation title was “Information Systems Success and Technology Acceptance within a Government Organization”. Her major professor was Dr. Chang Koh.
- Dr. Troy Voelker from the Management department accepted a position as assistant professor at the University of Houston – Clearlake. Dr. Voelker’s dissertation title was “The Impact of Social Capital and Dynamic Capabilities on New Product Development: An Investigation of the Entertainment Software Industry”. His major professor was Dr. Grant Miles.
- Dr. Lilly Lei Ye from the Marketing department accepted a position as assistant professor at Frostburg State University in the College of Business Administration – Department of Marketing and Finance. Dr. Ye’s dissertation title was “The Effects of Gender Identity on Consumers’ Perceptions: A Cross-Cultural Investigation”. Her major professor was Dr. Lou Pelton.
- Dr. Randall Young from the Information Technology and Decision Sciences department accepted a position as assistant professor at The University of Texas - Pan American in the College of Business Administration - Department of Accounting and Business Law. Dr. Young’s dissertation title was “Defining the Information Security Posture: An Empirical Examination of Structure, Integration, and Effectiveness”. His major professor was Dr. John Windsor.
