Area children will have a brighter holiday this year thanks to the Professional Leadership Program (PLP) , sponsored by the College of Business. This is the first year for the Toy Drive which collected 155 toys and approximately $200 in gift cards. The gifts were delivered to the Make-a-Wish® Foundation of North Texas in early December.
"This was a great way for our students to enrich the lives of children with life-threatening medical conditions," said Renee Hebert, Director of PLP.
The Make-A-Wish Foundation was founded in 1980 after a little boy named Chris Greicius realized his heartfelt wish to become a police officer. Since its humble beginnings, the organization has blossomed into a worldwide phenomenon, reaching more than 167,000 children around the world.
