This rigorous program assists students in the attainment of their educational and personal goals through participation in research and other academic/scholarly activities. Each student selected will also be paired with a faculty mentor. The program was named in honor of the astronaut who died in the 1986 space-shuttle explosion. Currently there are 170 programs nationally.
