Pam Smith (1993) received the award for Innovation in Accounting Education at the AAA meeting; the award was for her work on “accounting for derivatives and hedging activities.” Pam also received the outstanding educator award from the Illinois Society of CPAs for 2008. Pam has been at Northern Illinois since leaving UNT in 1994 and currently is the KPMG Professor of Accounting.
Ross Tondkar (1983) received the outstanding educator work from the International Accounting section of the American Accounting Association for the work he has done mentoring doctoral students in the international accounting area. Ross is a professor and has been at Virginia Commonwealth since graduating from UNT.
