The Admissions Process to the Toulouse School of Graduate Studies is divided into a process for U.S Citizens and a different process for International Students. Please choose the one below that applies to you.

Deadlines


US Citizens and Permanent Resident Deadlines

NOTE: Submission of all application materials and transcripts in advance of the following deadlines is recommended for all applicants.

Ready to apply to UNT and/or IELI? UNT's application process is easy! Just follow the steps below:

2. Submit Non-Refundable Application Fee

Once you have completed your application, you will need to submit your application fee. Fee amounts are $50 for US Citizens and Permanent Residents.


3. Submit Official Transcripts

Secondary school graduates must send official secondary credentials and graduation certificates, if applicable.

If you have ever attended and/or graduated from a university, you must send official transcripts from all universities attended.

The Toulouse School of Graduate Studies will check transcripts for minimum GPA requirements of 3.0 on the last 60 hours of a bachelor degree, or a 2.8 overall GPA, or a 3.4 on a Masters degree.

Essay

Essay of unique events, life experiences, and qualifications that you feel distinguish your candidacy and will add to the value of the class. (Must be no more than 600 – 700 words)


Resume

A resume consisting of work and academic experience.


Three Recommendations

Three (3) recommendationare required. Recommendations must be signed and dated on letterhead. Alternatively, recommendation forms may be downloaded. All recommendations should be professional or academic in nature, not from friends, family or clergy. No more than two letters may be from professors of the same university or supervisors of the same company. Professors must be different colleges if they are from the same university. Your full name and student ID must be included on ALL pages.

5. Submit Official GMAT/GRE Scores


The College of Business prefers the GMAT be taken but will accept the GRE if it has already been taken. Scores must be less than 7 years old for MS in Accounting Programs and 10 years old for other MBA or MS degrees. Scores may take 4-6 weeks to be processed and must be received before the deadline. Average Score: 510 (lower scores may be considered with high GPAs or recommendations.)

GMAT

The GMAT is US $250.00 and is due upon scheduling an appointment by calling 1-800-717-GMAT or online at: www.mba.com. Fall 2008 average is 508.


GRE

The institutional code for the University of North Texas is 6481. Be sure that you DO NOT put in a departmental code. Scheduling an appointment by calling 866-473-4373 or online at www.gre.org. Fall 2008 average is 1046.


6. Check Status Online


There are two ways to check your status.

  1. To check if your transcripts and GMAT/GRE scores have been submitted: The Toulouse School of Graduate Studies (TSGS) will send you an email and pin number to check online at: www.my.unt.edu. You will need to activate your EUID with the pin number and click on Admissions Status.
  2. To check if your supporting documents (essay, resume, recommendation) have been submitted: Email your full name and student ID to mbaCoB@unt.edu.

International Admission

2. Submit Non-Refundable Application Fee


Once you have completed your application, you will need to submit your application fee. Fee amounts are as follows:

3. Submit Official Transcripts

4. Demonstrate English Language Proficiency


All applicants to UNT must show proof of English language proficiency. For International students, this is most commonly demonstrated through TOEFL. However, we accept more methods of English proficiency than most other 4-year universities in the U.S. because of the international experience of our employees and their knowledge of international curriculums. See the list of acceptable measures below.


NOTE: UNT has made changes to its English Language Proficiency requirements, effective August 2007.
